Words of Wisdom

The Shift. Taking Your Life From Ambition To Meaning

I’ve been noticing more and more people these days feeling unsettled and searching for deeper meaning in their personal lives and careers. Unhappy with their jobs in the corporate world, disenchanted by their mechanical daily routines, and longing for more clarity, and purpose on their life journey. I know this feeling very well having worked so many years in the fashion industry, and while I love designing, creating and bringing beauty in to the world, the fashion industry just always left me with this insatiable, itching feeling inside, knowing in my core that something greater, more aligned with my life purpose was calling out to me. After many years of going back in forth in my mind, battling fears and limiting beliefs, I took a leap of faith, followed my heart, and ventured out on a new path. Back to Eden.

Any one looking to make a shift in their life, I recommend reading this incredible book called The Shift. Taking your life from ambition to meaning, by Wayne Dyer. An extremely inspirational and life transformational book, I encourage anybody who is inspired to live a more meaningful life to explore the pages of this book and let these powerful words become one with you.

I’d like to share a passage from the book with you that has called out to me. If you would like to read more you can purchase a copy of the Shift at Chapters/Indigo or order it online at Amazon. I also encourage you to check out Shift Village in Montreal that offers classes, workshops and business solutions to people looking to make that shift in there lives. “Do the work that you love for a living and join a community that supports you! ”

Don’t ask what the world needs; don’t ask what others think you should be doing with your life. Instead, ask yourself what makes you come alive. because, more than anything else, what the world truly needs are men and women who have come alive . What the world needs is the natural sincerity of people living their passion in a way that makes others lives better. That is what being authentic looks like and this, is my humble opinion, is what Lao tzu meant when he called this second cardinal virtue of natural sincerity something that shows up as honesty and determination to be faithful to one’s truest, most authentic self.
