Healthy Organic Plant Based food in Cairo? Is that possible in a bustling 20 million plus city?
Hello my names Shoshana, a Canadian in Love with Egypt. How did i end up in Cairo? People were surprised when I shared my personal story that I caught Hepatitis A, during my travels in Upper Egypt, with my family during the Christmas Holidays. Some were even more perplexed why I favoured to do my recovery in bustling Cairo rather than go back and regenerate at my peaceful quiet home base by the sea in Sinai.
On one level I stayed in Cairo because I did not have even the energy to move anywhere. I was bed ridden for weeks, yellow with Jaundice, nauseous, and unable to eat or drink. Hepatitis was one of the most challenging diseases I had ever experienced. It was more feasible for my healing, recovery, and detoxification, to find Healthy, Organic, Plant Based, Vegan, Good quality, Clean food in Cairo than any other place in Egypt. It’s quite fascinating the treasures I found and continue to find in Cairo!
Egypt is magical what ever you wish for, you can find it in Egypt! As a friend once said, that its not really USA the land of opportunities, they were mistaken, the true land of opportunities is in Egypt! Not to mention the Egyptians are the most Kind Hearted, Funny, Welcoming , Community Oriented people i’ve yet to meet, Everyone is there for each other and has each other backs, and always open to lending a hand.
The best part of Living in Egypt is every one here is God Loving. People are so full of gratitude! I love living in a place where everyone is warm hearted and genuinely Loves God. Friday Mornings is my favourite day of the week, everyone stops everything and honour’s prayer time with God. The streets are quiet with beautiful singing of the Mosque.
It’s always strange when people ask me “You feel safe living in Egypt?” Yes! it feels more safe than any place I’ve ever visited, even more than my own country. The police here are friendly and good to foreigners. I sometimes feel like a princess living in Cairo.
I meet the most interesting people coming through Egypt, High Priestess’s, Shamans, all kinds of Healers, Goddesses , Gurus, Musicians, Artists, Writers, coming from all over the world, through Egypt, to collect Ancient Sparks, Experience Egyptian Mystery School, Explore Ancient Egypt , Pyramids, Temples, Blue Lotus, and the Majestic Nile. Theres no end to the discovery of beauty in Egypt. Not just with food, the treasures are to be found all over.
I see amazing things happening in Egypt, Ive come to see it as my home, And Egypt my Family, it holds a special place in my heart. I never imagined living in the city, Im a nature girl, but the charm of Cairo with all its boundless opportunities, treasures and warmth of the people, have kept me intrigued, and surprisingly it turned in to home.
There is so much progress going on here on all levels, and Egypt is moving in the right direction towards sustainability and rebirthing of a new civilization. I think the current President Sisi, is doing an Amazing Job and look forward to seing the Blue Lotus Returning to the Nile.
