Kinfolk Magazine hosted this May Flower Potlucks in 23 Cities! I fell in love with this concept upon first sight. Although the date has passed im determined to see one of these hosted next May in Montreal!

Whats is Flower Potluck? The Flower Potluck is a celebration of Spring’s arrival, bringing new and old friends together to delight in the season’s fresh flowers, foliage, and food. Community gathering to learn some simple flower arranging techniques, and to sit at the table amongst fallen petals and cut stems while we enjoy a light Spring-inspired meal, and guest speaker. Guests are requested to bring a bunch of flowers or greenery to share with everyone(hence, the potluck) whether from the roadside, the corner store, the backyard, or wild fields: just come with your hands full. The theme is inspired by May Day (May 1st), a holiday devoted to welcoming new springtime growth and warmth. Americans traditionally celebrate this day by anonymously leaving small baskets full on flowers on friends doorsteps. Some lovely images from past events.
