Ayurvedic Natural Health Wisdom – Vata Winter

In Ayurveda, Ancient Sacred Indian Natural Medicine. In the colder winter months we are in the Vata season. A more cold season where it important especially for those who have a sensitivity to cold, to start adapting diet and make lifestyle changes that will supports your body harmoniously through it. 
Here are a few helpful Health tips that I wished to share, ones that I have seen being helpful to myself and others.

Some Healthy Tips for the Winter Season – Vata 

Hot Quinoa or Oatmeal cereal for breakfast. Warmed with Cinnamon, Ginger, Cardamon, cooked with some Apple , or Banana and Coconut milk. 
Wild rice with Root Vegetables 
Vegan Soups and Stews with Spices such as Turmeric, Ginger, Curry, Cardamon, Cinnamon
Hot medicinal Tea Decoction – Holy Basil made in a crock pot cooked on low temperature overnight 
Spring Water – Travel to fetch clean holy spring water,  keep your temple Hydrated 
Hot ginger and turmeric tea – use these spices too in your cooking 
Detox bath – Epson Salts, Neem leaf, Neem Oil, Benzonite Clay.
Warm Body, Purify Body, Cleanse and Detox by taking Herbal and Salt Baths. If you want a little extra love energy, add some Rose Petals. 
Dry Brushing : Before bathing dry brush your body to remove dead skin, and to facilitate the circulation, and detox process. 
Oregano oil – Immune Boosting, preventative. you can ingest the oil direct in water, or buy the oil in capsule. Some find the taste strong. 
Hot sesame oil massage. Learn to give self love massage to yourself.
Sauna, Thermal Bath Detox
Rest
Interment fasting – especially for people trying to heal a physical disease or those feeling the need to detoxify. Quite opposite to what we learnt in past, fasting is actually good for you, and gives your digestive system time to rest and heal. Overeating means you tire it!
Mindful eating being present with your food 
Blessings of gratitude before meals 
Dental hygiene : oil pulling. Coconot oil. Natural essential oils for gum care, natural toothpaste : Neem, Clove, Cinnamon, Peppermint 
Medicinal wholes foods / organic 
Root vegetables , local in season 
Spiritual Study of Sacred Holy Book and Scriptures 
Nature walks outdoors for body to adapt to cold and to rejuvenate your spirit 
Be in harmony with self, season, nature, all of existence 
Listen to your heart, honour your boundaries, your energy, accept what ever moment your experiencing. If you need to rest, rest. If you need to be alone in study, study. If your slowing down, embrace that. Honour the season – within. 
Daily Self/ love care , even if you have a busy schedule, make time for your soul and for the souls that recognize you and come to you for guidance

Yoga, Breathing, prayer, meditation, reiki (chakra balancing/healing) , open heart, holding deep love of god, every step, every thought, every breathe! We are instruments ofd light, of love, of peace of joy! Keep this beautiful awareness.
